Marjorie Hope Gross

Certified Psychosynthesist

Life Growth Facilitator

AAS, CP, CPLC

My name is Marjorie and I am a Holistic Counselor and Coach.

My style tends to be more interactive and direct than neutral, and I work hard to help you move toward your goals as quickly as possible.

I believe that one of the most important parts of the therapeutic process is working with someone you are really comfortable with.

That’s why I offer a free consultation for us to meet, discuss your needs and expectations, and see if we are a good fit – with no obligation or commitment.

I work with a variety of tools and techniques to help you attain your therapeutic goals, and actively tailor the treatment approach to suit the needs of my clients.

I use treatment methods, both traditional and holistic, that have proven to be effective.

You're more courageous than you think.
It takes real courage to ask for help!

I see this in my clients – not just the significant courage it takes to ask for help in the first place, but the courage to keep coming and keep working on things.

Especially outside the office.

I believe that you deserve all the good that's coming your way. Helping and watching you get there is my privilege.

I'll assist you the best I can in helping you find the answers. You decide what's useful. It's up to you to choose what's valuable and important. It is your choice.

I maintain a great respect for individual differences, and welcome the opportunity to work with clients of diverse races, religious and ethnic backgrounds, and sexual orientations.

About My Practice

My practice is primarily based in psychosynthesis, a transpersonal psychology developed in the early 20th century by Italian physician Dr. Roberto Assagioli. It states that every human being has the ability to live a full, meaningful life if he/she is aware of his/her strengths and capabilities.

Personal psychosynthesis is a client-led process and life practice. It guides individuals to understand and accept themselves more fully, and more compassionately. This can lead to a more aligned and authentic expression in the world, improved relationships, and a greater sense of ease.

I empower people to connect with their authentic selves, making conscious decisions about their life paths and purposes.

You can learn more about my areas of practice and when you should seek help, on this page.

Why do I do this work?

I have always known that I wanted to help others, even as I was struggling with my own, sometimes quite serious, issues.

I imagined myself becoming a therapist, but there were no clear pathways in those days, except through psychiatry, which definitely did not feel like a fit for me.

High school offered me no answers as to what was next, but I found my way into the fashion field, which gave me my first adult orientation.

Both the demanding world of Parsons School of Design and the experience of empowering my creativity launched my adulthood.

Through my experiences as a designer traveling the world I learned much about people, myself and life. Fashion was not a good fit for me over time, though, and I revisited my early dream of being a therapist.

Finding The Synthesis Center, Psychosynthesis and the work of therapy and life coaching, provided an opportunity to unlock the “why” behind my own struggles while also helping others.

It felt natural and comfortable to use Psychosynthesis concepts to support my clients, as they were practical and accessible, and resonated so deeply with my Buddhist practice. Psychosynthesis provided both a framework and the tools for me to guide.

Now, years into my private practice I am tremendously appreciative to have found work that fills my soul and that I look forward to every day.

In my questionnaire to clients, I ask what they want to be remembered for after their death. I’d like to think that if one person can say I helped them live a better life after I’m gone, I will have fulfilled my “call of self.”
